Dr. Adam Houston received his B.S. in meteorology from Texas A&M University and his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests center on the initiation and organization of deep moist convection. His current and proposed work aims to address the role of preexisting low-level heterogeneities (airmass boundaries, topography, etc.) on convective initiation, thunderstorm type, and supercell morphology. He will be working on the numerical simulation of convective initiation with the research group.
